What We Are:  DNFTA is a non-profit public charity with the principle purpose to use ART AND MEDIA as TOOLS to EDUCATE individuals, communities, and corporations with effective means to safeguard the ENVIRONMENT and achieve a better and more SUSTAINABLE FUTURE.

 

We are undertaking to build a multi-portal website with a dedicated portal for our online TV Channel to promote our sustainability programs, green products, and eliminate waste and pollution at large.  We are also working on a documentary film concerning plastic waste.

 

What do we want:  Fundraising/Social Media Volunteer

 

If you are into environmental sustainability and you have a knack for writing with excellent grammar, proper spelling, and thought-provoking ideas, particularly ones that engage, amuse, and entertain—we want to hear from you!  If you are on the pulse of social media and have experience fundraising, that is a huge plus!

 

What we offer you:

This is a volunteer position which shall become temp to hire with the right individual.  Since it is a hybrid of journalism, social media marketing, and fundraising, we are looking for a talented individual with a lot of flexibility who is willing to take the initiative, learn, and develop new skills.

 

Currently we are asking for 10 – 15 hours a week of assistance.  The volunteer reports to the Secretary and President.

Rundown of Duties

  • Produce communication materials such as articles for the website, newsletters, and announcements for events
  • Assist with website and marketing materials as needed
  • Social Media marketing (blogs, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr, LinkedIn, Google +, Pinterest)
    • Creates interesting, engaging, and informative content to promote DNFTA’s programs and mission
    • Ability to handle opinions with tact and politeness
  • Takes on additional assignments as needed

 

Experience, Education, and Qualifications

  • Background and/or interest in one or more of the following: Environmental Science and Sustainability, Global Policy, Biology, Botany, Ecology, Natural Resource Management, Ethology, Zoology, Journalism, English, and/or Photography and Film
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs (especially Excel)
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop and/or HTML/CSS and WordPress preferred
  • Experience with Google Docs
  • Strong organizational and analytics skills
  • Ability to use discretion, confidentiality and judgment
  • Fundraising experience is a plus, but not a requirement

 

Part-time: 10 – 15 hours/week.  May advance to full-time position.
